Change is good. Change is healthy. And I’m ready to make a bit of one.
When Instagram became more and more popular, many bloggers moved to the app to share their thoughts and stories. I resisted but eventually did the same; my goal was to keep blogging and use Facebook and Instagram to drive traffic to my blog. However, as time passed, I spent more time on social posts and less on what I really love, which is writing. So it’s time to change gears again, to reduce my time on social media.
I know, I know. Social media is here to stay. I recognize that it has a useful purpose. I like having information related to my interests at my finger tips, and I love that posts are current. Most importantly, I love the connections that I have made with many people. But as I am spending more time these days on my own, I have felt compelled to write longer posts and share my thoughts with anyone who takes the time to read them. A few weeks ago, I realized that I could be blogging those same ideas but with a bit more heart and soul and do a better job. As I thought about it, stepping away from socials made more and more sense.
So here I am, ready to make one small change in habits. My end of day routine is now going to be in front of a computer where I can create and edit, where I can challenge my brain to come up with the right word or re-phrase a sentence and edit everything again. We’ll see where this takes me.
I hope you’ll continue to follow along.
